Pratah smarami khalu tatsaviturvarenyam rupam hi mandalamricho ‘tha tanur yajoomshi. Samani yasya kiranah prabhavad ihetum brahma haratmakamala kshya chintyaruupam. |
In the morning, I remember the form of the Supreme Sun, the best among those worth adoring, who radiates light in the form of a beautiful circle. The rays of this Sun are the cause of the birth and development of all creation. Its mysterious and unfathomable nature is reminiscent of the lotus-born creator Brahma. |

Pratah namami taranim tanuva’manobhi brahme’ndra purvaka surainata marchitam cha. Vrishti pramochana vinigraha hetubhutam trailokya palana param tri gunatmakam cha. |
In the morning, I bow to the radiant Sun, whose rays cleanse the body and mind. The celestial beings, led by Brahma and Indra, adore this Sun. It serves as the cause of rain, release, and control. It protects the three worlds and embodies the three qualities (guna) of existence. |

Pratah bhajami savitar amanantashaktim paughashatrubhaya roga haram param chand. Tam sarva lokakanaakatmakakala moorti go kantha bandhana vimochanam adidevam. |
In the morning, I worship the Sun, the source of infinite energy, who dispels sins, enemies, and diseases. It is the ultimate light. This Sun is the embodiment of the cycles of time in all worlds, and it liberates us from the bonds of ignorance like cutting the throat of darkness. It is the primeval deity. |

Om chitram devanam udagadaneekam chakshur mitrasya varunasya agne. Aapra dhaavaa prithivee antariksham soorya aatmaa jagatas tasthu shru. |
Om! The Sun is the fascinating eye of the gods, the vision of Mitra and Varuna, the fire of Agni. It travels across the earth, the atmosphere, and is the soul of the universe. Listen attentively. |
| सूर्यो देवीमुषसं रोचमानां मत्योन योषामभ्येति पश्र्वात् । यत्रा नरो देवयन्तो युगानि वितन्वते प्रति भद्राय भद्रम् ।।5।। |
Sooryo devim ushasam rochamaanaam matyona yoshama bhyeti pashvaat. Yatra naro devayanto yugani vitanvate prati bhadraaya bhadram. |
The Sun, shining forth, illuminates the goddess Usha (dawn). It dispels the darkness and fear of the maternal womb. Where the worshiper of the Sun traverses the ages, there arises only auspiciousness for them. |
